Blue Penguin ( Ages 3 to 6)

An absolutely beautiful story celebrating the theme of differences. Just how would a lonely and ignored little child may feel in a group of children: friendless, no-one to laugh with and to play with, sitting in a far corner of the play ground, staring at the happy kids running about playing catch..
This is the heart wrenching story about a lonely little penguin who`s ignored by his own clan because he is Blue; the other penguins say that he is not like them. Well, he is not the best at everything; he`s not the best at diving or jumping. ``But he always caught a big fish!`` And, he did all the same things that the other penguins did. Most of all, he is the talented one who can make the most wonderful music. On his lonesome, he dreams about a magnificent white whale coming to rescue him and he creates his own sorrowful melody on that. His music attracts a single little penguin at first and an enormous whale .... The story is all about friendship, belonging and about differences-with a happy end note.
The illustrations are a visual treat. Set in a glorious wintery land, all white with shades of blue under the glowing orange sun and with deep blue starry nights amongst emerald seas, and the Blue penguin always in the spotlight being translucent blue, each spread of the book is a wonder. And an enchanting winter read.
